The Dead Sea has approximately 10x higher mineral concentration than typical seawater, with elevated levels of magnesium (50,800 ppm), calcium (17,200 ppm), potassium (7,270 ppm), and bromide. These minerals interact with skin during application.
• Dead Sea Water: The liquid component maintains the mud's consistency and mineral availability. Dead Sea water has a salinity of 34.2% (compared to 3.5% in oceans), creating a hypertonic environment.
• Acribio OCS (1%): A preservative system (likely containing organic acids) that prevents microbial growth in the product while maintaining the mud's natural properties. Added at minimal concentration to ensure product safety without altering the mud's mineral profile.
What It Does:
When applied as a mask, the mud creates occlusion on skin's surface, temporarily drawing moisture and oils toward the surface through osmotic pressure from its high mineral content. As the mask dries, it provides a tightening sensation and mild physical exfoliation upon removal. The magnesium and calcium content may help with temporary improvement in skin texture and appearance of pores.
